Package option is charged because the weight is more and the volume.
But it's not neccessary, the package option isn't useful, just the rectangle hard paper box to put it away, default as no package. The package option is for people who would like to send this as gifts or resell this product. For your own use, I mean if you buy it for yourself, without the package is fine, anything else including the manual and inside leather case thing will all sent out, the package is only the hard paper rectangle box. But if you don't care the package charge, choose with package is better.

Power: Battery compartment is located in the left ear cup
Press down and turn earcup cover counterclockwise. Replace battery cover and twist clockwise to lock.
Two Batteries needed (Not Included).
Connect: Beats is compatible with iPhoneTM, Blackberry and other music-enabled phones. Insert the Monster iSoniTalk cable Straight Connector into the Beats headset and the right-angle connector into your music-enabled phone.
Listen: To listen, move the power switch to the far left. Red LED will illuminate. Red LED turns amber when battery power is low.
Mute: To pause your Beats, simply press and hold the Beats mute button on the center of the right ear cup.
To resume listening, release the mute button.
Fold: Remove your Beats cable. Note the two folding hinges on the Beadhand. Fold one side, then the other.
Apply pressure to the hinge, not the earcup, when folding.
